Booked

Book-based sculptural forms, artist books and text-based works from regional, interstate and overseas artists. A Knock Knock Contemporary Artists' Initiative exhibition.

10 February to 22 March

Feature Wall

KickArts presents Booked, a new twist on the Women in the Arts exhibition program held annually by Knock Knock Contemporary Artists’ Initiative.

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, on March 8, this is a celebratory exhibition aimed at capturing a snapshot of contemporary Book Arts and the diverse practice it embraces. Booked features book-based sculptural forms, artist books and text-based works from regional, interstate and overseas artists.

Moving beyond functionality and their role as vessels of information, the exhibition propels the book into the realms artistic adventure, conceptual endeavour and aesthetic pleasure.

Booked is part of a larger Knock Knock curated exhibition and community engagement event. Women in the Arts: of sense and sensibilities features regional contemporary artists’ diverse and complex investigations at Canopy Art Centre.
