‘Reel Dreams’ a Storyboard exhibition by Peter Pound, one of Australia’s leading film storyboard artists, curated by Kick Arts Chairperson Michael Winer which coincided with Cairns Celebration of Film. Peter Pound is renowned for his work on ‘Babe’, ‘Babe 2 Pig in the City’, ‘The Crow’ and ‘Dark City’. Peter Pound as a guest of the Film Festival hosted a workshop on the role of a storyboard artist followed by an open forum with other Film Festival guests Barry Otto and Gil Scrine who discussed the financial viability of working in the industry. This exhibition was probably the first storyboard exhibition in Queensland, if not Australia. Both the exhibition and the forums were extremely successful, attracting a huge audience and generating a lot of interest in the actual process of the ‘Storyboard’.
